Description
Levante Ferries is the shipowner of F/B Fior Di Levante and the holding company of Levante Ferries Group of Companies. It is also the Manager of all the vessels of the Group, including F/B’s Mare Di Levante, Kefalonia and Andreas Kalvos, all passenger vessels trading in the Ionian Sea, W. Greece. In 2019 Group’s vessels transported more than 1.8M passengers and 456K vehicles, marking a new increase over the previous year and the 6th continuous increase since the commencement of its services 6 years ago.
All these increases prove the increased loyalty and satisfaction of Levante Ferries’ customers, reflect a corresponding growth in the local wealth, and demonstrate the effectiveness of Levante Ferries’ continuous promotion of the islands of Zakynthos & Cephalonia, that has resulted in an increased flow of passengers and vehicles, with a significant contribution to the development of this important part of the Ionian ecosystem.
In 2019 the Group acquired its 5th RoPax Smyrna and it’s now renovating her from the scratch to serve a new short-international shipping line from Izmir, Turkey to Thessaloniki, Greece.
Due to its outstanding achievements, innovation, environmentally friendly practices and unique experience of on-board services and transportation offering to travellers, Levante Ferries won Greek Lloyd’s List Award of the Ship Passenger Company of the Year 2019.
In 2018, in the framework of EU ELEMED Project, its ship Fior Di Levante has been selected as the first Ro-Pax Ferry in Eastern Mediterranean to install a shore power connection for cold ironing, that enables her to shut down all main and auxiliary engines, while berthing at port. This has a great impact on the quality of life and public health in the Port of Kyllini and surrounding urban areas, by eliminating noise and significantly reducing air.
In 2015 RoPax Fior Di Levante was recognized with the renowned Shippax Award, as the most beautiful ferry in the world.

ELectrification in the Eastern MEDiterranean
A €1.6M EU-funded project aiming at the cold ironing across Eastern Mediterranean Ports. Cold ironing is the process of providing shore side electric power to a ship at berth while her main and auxiliary engines are turned off and become “cold”. The project involved three member states with their respective ports: Greece, Cyprus, and Slovenia. Upon partners’ invitation, Levante Ferries self-financed the construction of a shore connection on board its F/B Fior Di Levante and use her as a demo vessel to test the first pilot on-shore power supply for the electrification of ships installed in the Port of Kyllini, Greece.
